If there is a great ride within the borders of any of these maps, it is highlighted. Every single road has been evaluated by actually riding it on a motorcycle, judged against the others, and the best selected.
The focus is on the motorcycle vacation traveler.
Maps include;

  • Reliable out of town and remote gas stations
  • Mileage for each segment of road
  • Selected repair facilities and dealers
  • Notable sights and attractions
  • Good Connecting roads to avoid traffic
  • much more

New Biker Video – Riding to Bonnie Springs Ranch, NV

Posted By TwoWheelsTebo on February 24, 2010

This is a video from my 2009 ride.  Bonnie Springs Ranch was one of the check points on the Rose City Grand Tour motorcycle run.  It was a great ride and one that I would recommend if you like beautiful scenery.  Not such a great ride if you’re only in it for the twisties.  Take a look and see what you think.  As always, your comments are welcome and encouraged.  Happy Riding and keep the shinny side up!  :)

America Rides Maps

Posted By TwoWheelsTebo on February 17, 2010

Just came across a biker’s treasure this morning and knew I had to share it with you all.  It’s called America Rids Maps.  Unfortunately for those of us on the West Coast, these maps are only available for a handful of Eastern states.  However, for anyone in those states or traveling through or around them, I think these maps are a biker’s gold mine!  They are created by a fellow biker by the name of Wayne.  He personally rides every single road in a given area to find the best motorcycle roads, POI’s, and views from a motorcycle rider’s perspective and maps them out.  I talked to Wayne on the phone for 30 – 45 min this morning and was very impressed with his mapping project.  I will be riding some (hopefully many) of the routes on his maps this summer.  Check’m out at http://americaridesmaps.com/

Just go get the ice cream cone!

Posted By TwoWheelsTebo on February 2, 2010

I learned an important lesson some time back.  I was on my way back from a great ride up to Mary’s Peak, and was craving an ice cream cone.  There is a little “hole in the wall” cafe in Albany, OR called King Kone.  They’ve got these huge ice cream cones for only a buck 50, and I was craving one.  But, it would have been out of my way by about 5 miles, and I figured my middle really didn’t need the ice cream as much as my taste buds were trying to tell me it did.  So, I decided to just take the shorter route home and forget the ice cream.

Well, taking the short route home, put me on a normally good motorcycle road.  The problem was that this time, there was a 4″ screw on the road, (more…)

The West coast starting point and the East Coast destinations have been selected!  This year the tour will start from Newport, OR sometime in late May or early June.  The destination on the East coast will be the Wright Brother’s National Memorial near Kitty Hawk, NC.  Where will I go in between these two points?  I don’t have a clue!  You tell me where to go!  Some suggestions will simply be selected as they come in, others will be put in a poll on this site for all the naBiker.com visitors to vote on.

If your suggestion is added to the list of check points, you will earn NA Biker points.  Each time you log into naBiker.com within a 12 hr period, you will earn additional points.

So, what do you do with your points?  At the end of the 2010 Tour, there will be a drawing.  The details of the point system are still being developed, but the bottom line is that you will earn points for your participation in this tour.  Whether that is making route or destination suggestions, or joining me on portions of the rides.  The more points you earn, the more entries you will get in the drawing held at the end of the tour.

When the details have been finalized, a dedicated page will be added to this site to inform you of the rules. But you can start earning point right away!  You will earn your first 100 points and your first entry into the drawing just for registering on on the naBiker.com website.

Don’t let the lack of current dates on this blog fool you! :)

Posted By TwoWheelsTebo on January 3, 2010

Just in case you were wondering why the only posts are old ones…  Although naBiker.com has been up for some time, I just got blog portion of the site running. So I’m going back through my ride logs from the summer of 2009 as I get time, and posting them on the dates that I actually did the ride.  Don’t let the lack of current date postings fool you into thinking this site is a dead one.  This blog is just coming to life and new posts will be made often…daily during the 2010 Tell Tebo Where To Go Mortorcycle Tour, which will start towards the end of May or early June.  :)

Many of the posts for during the 2010 Tour will include video. All though there may be a delay in the video posting because of limited editing time while on the road.  When that happens, the blog entries will be edited to include the videos at a later date, plus all the videos will be also available to watch on the “Videos” page of this site in a 2010 Playlist.
Happy riding and keep the shiny side up!

Cody, WY to Rapid City, SD

Posted By TwoWheelsTebo on May 24, 2009

Got up at 5:00am in Cody, WY and headed for more adventures…this time in SD.  So, we left Cody on Hwy 14 and headed East to the Little Bighorn Mountains.

Lush green ranch just before entering the canyon into the Little Bighorn National Forrest.

Lush green ranch just before entering the canyon into the Little Bighorn National Forrest.

It turned out to be pretty cold and nasty, and rained most of day. But not to worry, I had already ridden through snow, rain and cold on this trip and I was ready for it.  I remembered driving through them somewhere when I was a kid, but it had been so long that I really didn’t remember much.  So when we finally started into the mountains, I was in for a good surprise.  It was more beautiful than I had remembered.  That’s always better than the other way around.  And I’ve been there and done that too!

Just before we started into the Little Bighorns on Hwy 14, the landscape became very lush and green, with mountains looming ahead of us in the distance.  I knew we had to ride through the mountains at some point.  So, as I rode along, I tried to see if I could see any tell tail signs of where the road might go into the mountains.  At first it seemed like it was a futile attempt.  But then, way out ahead of me and to my left, I started to see what looked like a canyon cutting into the mountains.  Aha!  That had to be it.  I kept my eye on that canyon as I rode along. Riding Through Yellowstone National Park

We left Jerome, ID this morning and head for Yellowstone National Park.  The weather was outstanding again today.  Riding Interstate freeways can get pretty boring

when the scenery is not that great.  But today, unlike the norm, I had three cars full of wimps (they were in car’s not on bikes…what did you expect me to call them?  lol)  following me, and we all had CB radios which made the boring freeway a little less boring.  :)   However it all started to change as we got closer to the mountains.
